Aveksa Radically Changes the Economics of Identity and Access Management

New Product Innovations Eliminate Provisioning Costs as the Barrier to Successful Identity Management

Rapid Connection to "The Uncovered 95%" of Applications Delivers Better Access Decisions and Rapid Time to Value

Waltham, MA,—May 14, 2012—Aveksa, Inc., the market-leading provider of enterprise Access Governance automation solutions, today introduced a disruptive change to the economics of Identity Management systems. Aveksa's innovative new offerings enable rapid onboarding of applications for provisioning, eliminating the need for enterprises to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on software customization, the approach required by traditional provisioning systems.

Available immediately with Aveksa's Access Governance Platform version 5.5, these new features include the general availability of Access Fulfillment Express (AFX), Aveksa's access change fulfillment solution, as well as other significant product enhancements.

The general availability of AFX sets a new standard for approaching access change fulfillment, breaking the cycle of heavy investments, disappointment and expensive migration that have been prevalent in the Identity Management industry for so long. According to Gartner, "IAM administration projects (especially user-provisioning projects) are generally thought of as costly and necessarily involving long implementation timelines. They are also generally associated with "failed" projects, cost overruns and, in general, frustration."[1]. Even today, while traditional provisioning vendors bicker over whose decade-old provisioning technology is better, enterprises are left with the poor choice of replacing one expensive and brittle provisioning system with another.

Aveksa approaches the problem differently. Aveksa's business-driven Identity and Access platform provides a single, unified place for all key Identity and Access information, and a single, unified place to define and execute business policies and processes. Unlike traditional provisioning systems, Aveksa keeps the business layer focused on areas that add value to the business – managing access and policy lifecycle events, ensuring audit readiness and ensuring that only the right people have the right access to data and application resources. Integration logic – the "last mile" that has proven to be such a source of frustration and cost with traditional provisioning systems – is handled within Aveksa AFX, cleanly separating it from business logic. Because AFX is solely focused on integration, it enables a dramatic reduction in deployment cost and effort compared with traditional provisioning systems.

With Aveksa AFX, enterprises can leverage the investments they've made by connecting to their existing provisioning systems, while standardizing on a modern, centralized place in which to define policies, execute processes and drive access lifecycle activities including change fulfillment. Using Aveksa's patent-pending Security Integration Fabric™ technology, AFX enables enterprises to rapidly and reliably connect the "other 95%" of applications that traditional provisioning systems have left uncovered. Aveksa's nimble, cost-effective approach to access fulfillment offers a refreshingly unique alternative to the provisioning migration treadmill offered by traditional vendors.

Why Consider AFX?
Organizations should evaluate how Aveksa AFX can help them meet their Identity Management needs if they are:

  • Disappointed with the number of applications covered by their current Identity Management solution
  • Unable to quickly or cost-effectively onboard new applications for provisioning
  • Frustrated with the overlap and mismatch between their Identity Management and Access Management systems
  • Looking for a "self-service" configuration-based ability to quickly onboard applications

AFX Benefits
Enterprises adopting AFX will achieve the ability to:

  • Quickly and reliably fulfill access changes across all key systems and applications
  • Rapidly onboard new applications in hours rather than weeks
  • Take ownership of the "last mile" connection to applications

In addition to AFX, Aveksa's Access Governance automation platform version 5.5 strengthens what is already the industry's most advanced Access Governance solution. New features provide a full lifecycle approach to access, and include significant enhancements to user access request capabilities, including:

  • Access Request Interface Enhancements: Extensions to Aveksa's industry-leading Access Request capabilities include the ability to model complex and interdependent entitlement requests. This results in the elimination of forms-based development expenses, better compliance through policy-based forms, lower total cost of ownership, improved security posture and better business-user experience.
  • Access Request Process Improvements: The newest enhancements make business user approvals of requested access easier and fosters a more natural interaction between requester and approver. This results in faster access requests, lower total cost of ownership and better business user experience.
  • Task, Work Queue and SLA Management: By applying business priorities and business rules to access-related IT work, the enterprise obtains clearer prioritization of IT work, which results in more efficient business processes, more responsive IT and improved operational efficiency.

"Aveksa received numerous product accolades in 2011 including being named a leader in Access Governance by both Forrester and Gartner [2]," said Deepak Taneja, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Aveksa. "The introduction of significant new features in our Access Governance automation software suite and the general availability of AFX raise the bar for the Identity and Access Management market and further extends our leadership position. Most importantly, the innovations we announced today will enable our customers to make better access decisions and experience rapid time to value from their Identity and Access Management technology investments."
