Vick Viren Vaishnavi
CEO and President
Vaishnavi is an accomplished, results-driven software executive with over 20 years of experience in global sales operations, marketing, business development, consulting, product management and engineering.
Prior to joining Aveksa, Vaishnavi served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for BMC's $1.6 billion Enterprise Service Management (ESM) business and was responsible for driving global marketing strategy and field operations for the company's solutions and services business across the globe. Previous to BMC, Vaishnavi served as Chief Marketing Officer at BladeLogic. During Vaishnavi's tenure, BladeLogic grew over 100 percent year over year where he played a key role in transforming the company from its start-up stages to its successful initial public offering (IPO) in 2007 and ultimately its $800 million acquisition by BMC Software. Before BladeLogic, Vaishnavi was a principal at Rishisoft, an IT management consulting firm advising Fortune 500 executives on IT operations process and cost control strategies. Prior to Rishisoft, Vaishnavi was a founding member at Opticom, a business service analytics software company, where he drove product marketing and corporate development. Previous to Rishisoft, Vaishnavi drove product management and strategy at Aprisma Management Technologies, a subsidiary of Cabletron Systems that was acquired by Computer Associates.
Vaishnavi has been awarded six patents in the U.S. and internationally for his work in IT management software systems. He holds a BSEE from IIT India, an MSCE from the University of Massachusetts, and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Boston University School of Management.
Deepak Taneja
Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Deepak Taneja founded Aveksa in 2004 and has led the company from inception into the leading access governance vendor in the market. As CTO he is responsible for driving Aveksa's technology vision and delivery, ensuring that the company's solutions deliver the capabilities that customers need to solve their access governance challenges for today as well as in the future. Previously, he was CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Netegrity, where he was instrumental in establishing the company as a market leader in Identity and Access Management. Deepak has also held senior management roles at Switchboard, Banyan Systems and Intel Corporation. He holds a B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida.
John O'Donnell
Chief Financial Officer
John O'Donnell is responsible for all the financial and administrative operations of the company. He brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience and a track record of success to Aveksa. Before joining Aveksa, John was the Controller at Empirix Inc., a leading provider of voice and web application testing and monitoring solutions, where as a member of the management team he was responsible for directing all accounting, risk management, financial planning and analysis, and contract management activities. Prior to Empirix, John was Vice President of Finance at CA, Inc. where he led the finance and administration function for the Northeast Region and Canada. He joined CA after playing a key role in the successful acquisition of Netegrity, Inc., a leading enterprise security management software vendor. At Netegrity, John served as the Controller and was responsible for directing all financial activities including accounting, tax, financial planning and analysis, risk management, SEC reporting and the Sarbanes-Oxley certification process. John began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young LLP. John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts.
Andy Byron
Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Andy Byron is responsible for leading Aveksa's global sales efforts and for scaling the sales organization in order to increase revenue and help grow the company. Andy brings to Aveksa a proven track record of building and managing successful sales organizations in both large and small software companies. Prior to Aveksa, Andy was Vice President of Sales for northeast U.S. and Canada for BMC Software, a $2 billion Business Service Management (BSM) software company. In this position, Andy led a sales team responsible for selling BMC's full line of BSM solutions and doubled revenue by 100%. Previously, Andy served as BMC's Vice President of Sales for central Europe where he increased revenue by 100% Prior to BMC, Andy was Area Vice President of Sales for the northeast U.S. region for BladeLogic, a leading provider of data center automation software. Andy was instrumental in fueling BladeLogic's tremendous growth from a small start-up through the company's successful IPO and eventual acquisition by BMC Software for over $800 million. During his tenure at BladeLogic Andy increased revenue for his regions by five-fold. Earlier in Andy's career he was Eastern Area Director of Sales for VeriCenter, a leading provider of managed hosting, co-location, and infrastructure services. In this position, Andy led a sales team that covered half of North America, grew revenue 100% year-over-year and helped significantly grow the company ultimately leading to VeriCenter's acquisition by SunGard. Andy holds a B.S. degree in Social Sciences from Providence College.
Jim Ducharme
Vice President, Engineering and Support
Jim Ducharme leads all product engineering activities at Aveksa. He brings more than 16 years of experience delivering enterprise software solutions to market. Prior to joining Aveksa, he served as Vice President of Development at CA, responsible for the strategic planning, engineering, and delivery of the CA Identity Manager product line. Jim joined CA through the acquisition of Netegrity, a leader in Identity and Access Management, where he was initially responsible for the development of TransactionMinder, a Web services security product. He eventually assumed responsibility for Identity Management and the IdentityMinder product line. Prior to CA/Netegrity, Jim was Director of Development at YouPowered, a venture-backed startup company focused on identity privacy and behavior-driven personalization technology. Jim has also held senior positions at Sybase/Powersoft and at Natural Intelligence. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire.
Dan Peterson
Vice President, Product Management and Field Engineering
Dan Peterson is an Aveksa founder and is responsible for defining product strategy and requirements, determining engineering priorities, and overseeing technical field operations around the globe. Dan has more than 25 years experience in product development, support, sales and consulting. Before joining Aveksa, he was Vice President of Professional Services and Business Development for Performaworks. Prior to that, Dan was Senior Vice President of Technology at Engage and a Regional Consulting Manager for Novell. He has also held technical and management positions at Banyan Systems, Hewlett Packard and IBM. Dan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Bhanu Sareddy
Vice President of Consulting Services
As Vice President of Consulting Services, Bhanu Sareddy is responsible for driving the development of best practices, services offerings, component development and overseeing partner engagements for Aveksa's Access Governance Platform to ensure the successful delivery of Access Governance Deployments for our customers. Bhanu brings over 15 years of consulting services experience in Identity and Access Management for leading enterprise software companies. Before joining Aveksa, Bhanu served as Vice President of Practice Services for CA Technologies, where he was responsible for directing the company's Security and Service Assurance solution services teams. During his tenure at CA Bhanu helped increase revenue for service components by 100% year-over-year. Prior to joining CA through its acquisition of Netegrity, Bhanu was a Senior Identity and Access Management Architect at Netegrity where he oversaw large Identity and Web Security customer implementations. Prior to Netegrity, Bhanu held technical consultant positions at Collective Technologies and Inergy. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University.
Jason Garbis
Vice President of Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing, Jason Garbis is responsible for leading Aveksa's product and corporate marketing teams and activities. Prior to joining Aveksa, Jason led go-to-market activities for the Cloud Computing and Data Center Automation products for BMC Software, a $2 billion Business Service Management software company. Jason joined BMC Software via the acquisition of BladeLogic, where he was responsible for the go-to-market strategy for the company's award-winning Data Center Automation software solutions. Jason brings over 20 years of proven product management experience, having successfully led teams for leading technology companies such as IONA, Mercury/HP, and IMlogic. Jason has a B.A in Computer Science from Cornell University, an MBA from Northeastern University, and is also a published author.
